Quiet Solitude on the Connecticut River

On a cool November morning, this quiet bench looks to be a place where one can sit and contemplate the beauty of the lower Connecticut River and the four decades of work that the Gateway Commission has put in along with numerous conservation partners to protect the "natural and traditional riverway scene" for present and future citizens of Connecticut as well as for the thousands who visit every year. This location is immediately adjacent to the Chester Ferry launch on the Chester side of the river. A small parking lot is availabe to park your vehicle while you appreciate the beautiful view.
